Overview and Benefits:

Genesis Digital Key 1 is a smartphone app that allows you to unlock, lock, start, and drive your Genesis without the need for a physical key. You can also share Digital Key access with up to three other people. 

Availability

The Digital Key 1 is available for Android devices and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Please make sure your device meets the following requirements:

• Android operating system version 7.2 or later
• Bluetooth 4.2 or later
• Near Field Communication (NFC)

Getting Started:

Step 1: How to set up and start using Genesis Digital Key with your vehicle

1. Make sure you have a compatible Android phone with Android 7.2 or later, Bluetooth 4.2 or later, and NFC.
2. Create a MyGenesis account and enroll in the Genesis Digital Key service.
3. Download the Genesis Digital Key app from Google Play and install it on your phone.
4. Login to the Digital Key app using your MyGenesis email and password

Step 2: How to pair your Digital Key with your vehicle

1. Start your vehicle.
2. Open the Genesis Digital Key app on your phone.
3. Press the + button in the app.
4. Place your phone on the wireless charger in your car.
5. The car will recognize your phone and pair it automatically.
6. On models with a navigation system, go to Setup > Vehicle > Digital Key > Smartphone Key > Save.
7. On models without a navigation system, use the cluster base menu to access teh Digital Key option. From there, Digital Key > Smartphone Key > Save.

Pairing and registering the NFC Key Card

1. Start your car.
2. Make sure your phone is with you and the Digital Key app is open.
3. In the app, select the "Pair NFC Key Card via BLE" section.
4. Place your NFC Key Card on the wireless charger in your car.
5. The car will pair with the card automatically.
6. On models with a navigation system, go to Setup > Vehicle > Digital Key > NFC Key Card > Save.
7. On models without a navigation system, go to Digital Key > NFC Key Card > Save.
8. Tip: You can keep the NFC Key Card in your wallet or purse as a backup.

How to Use:

Digital Key Entry:

1. Approach the vehicle with your phone on and unlocked.
2. Place your phone near the driver's door handle for 1 second.
3. The doors unlock.

Digital Key Start:

1. Approach your vehicle with your phone on and unlocked.
2. Place your phone on the wireless charger in the car.
3. Press the brake pedal and push the start button.
4. The car will start.
5. You can remove your phone from the wireless charger.
6. You can lock your phone or use it for other tasks.

Digital Key Sharing:

1. Go to the My Vehicle section of MyGenesis or Genesis Intelligent Assistant
2. Under the heading "Digital Key", click on the button "Create Key"
3. Enter the following information for your intended shared key user:
   • First and last name
   • Email
   • Android smartphone number
4. Select to notify your shared key user via email or text message
5. The shared key user will receive a notification inviting them to have a shared digital key for your car
6. You can customize restrictions on the shared key, including:
   • An expiration date
   • Allowed operation time
   • The option to allow the shared user to either drive the car or only have access to enter the vehicle
7. Click on the "Create Key" button
8. Tip: You can share your Digital Key with up to 3 other users and disable or revoke a Shared Key at any time
