The “Hey Genesis” wake-up word feature will automatically listen for the voice recognition prompt and activate Dynamic Voice Recognition with pressing any buttons, making the drive safer and more convenient. To use, it’s as simple as saying “Hey Genesis.”

To Setup Hey Genesis

Press the Setup button and then select Voice Recognition and then ensure “Activate Wake-up Word” is selected.

To avoid accidental activations, the sensitivity of the wake-up word recognition can also be adjusted higher or lower.

How Does ‘Hey Genesis’ Work?

With “Activate Wake-up Word” selected, the Genesis Dynamic Voice Recognition system can be activated at any time by simply saying “Hey Genesis.” From there, the voice commands and prompts follow the same standard as the voice recognition system.

The system’s advanced voice recognition technology allows to easily control a range of vehicle functions with simple voice commands, keeping your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road:

1. Control Climate Settings: Want to turn up the heat or cool down the cabin? Say, "Set the temperature to 72 degrees" or "Turn on the seat heaters," and the vehicle will respond accordingly.
2. Adjust the Seats: You can say, “Adjust the seat to the highest setting.” Your Genesis adjusts for maximum comfort.
3. Liftgate Operations: Command your Genesis to “Open the liftgate” or “Close the liftgate.”
4. Music and Stations: Say goodbye to fiddling with the radio dials. With Hey, Genesis and Dynamic Voice Recognition, say “Play jazz” or “Tune to 97.8 FM,” and the car will instantly switch to your favorite station.
5. Navigation Made Easy: “Find the nearest gas station” or “Navigate to the closest coffee shop”—your car will map out the best route. You can even request a specific destination by name or directions to nearby interest points.

Real-Time Information with a Simple Command

Guests can even get live updates on stocks, weather forecasts, and sports scores without touching the infotainment screen. Say, “Hey Genesis” and then at the voice prompt, say “what’s the weather like today?” or “Hey Genesis - give me the latest sports scores” to stay in the loop while driving.

You need an active Genesis Connected Services account and a strong network connection to access stocks, weather forecasts, and sports scores.

Complimentary Genesis Connected Services (GCS) is available to original purchasers and lessees of new 2023 and newer GCS-equipped Genesis models. Not available on all models and trims. GCS requires an active GCS account subject to the Connected Services Terms and Conditions. GCS features vary by model and trim. Only use GCS features and corresponding devices when safe to do so. Cellular and GPS coverage is required. Features, specifications, and fees are subject to change.

All GCS services rely on digital wireless telecommunications technology outside of Genesis’ control. GCS is dependent on 4G LTE cellular networks controlled and maintained by third-party wireless carriers. If and when these networks change and/or discontinue service, or the underlying technology required to support GCS becomes obsolete, then the connected services will not work and Genesis will be forced to cancel impacted subscription services.
