“Alexa, tell Genesis to start my G80 at 68 degrees.” “Alexa, ask Genesis to lock my G90.” “Alexa, tell Genesis to flash the lights on my G80 and honk the horn.” Now you don’t need keys or a phone in hand to remotely control your Genesis. In fact, you don’t need to use hands at all, making the old adage, “Ask and you shall receive,” more of a reality than ever before.

As the first automaker to launch an Alexa skill, Genesis is providing unprecedented control and access to your vehicle through the Alexa voice services. Now you can send remote commands to your vehicle from inside your home using simple voice interaction through Genesis Connected Services and an Alexa-enabled device.

Here’s how it works:

To send commands to Genesis vehicles via Alexa, first enable the Genesis Skill in your Alexa companion app (available on iOS, Android and Fire tablets) and then link your existing Genesis Connected Services Account within the Alexa app. Simply follow the audio prompts and you’ll be able to lock and unlock your vehicle, honk the horn, flash the lights, start the engine and set the temperature and even turn off your car.
